YouTube is great! Here are some of my favorite skate clips so far:
Mark Gonzales.
Gino Iannucci.
Guy Marriano.
They have video clips of all kinds of stuff!!!!!
Last week I attended two very good symposiums that took place at the AA. The first day was also a book launch, AA and AD Wiley Symposium, Techniques and Technologies in Morphogenetic Design. The second day was Differentiated Structures in Nature and Design Symposium.
I think these were probably the most important symposia to go on at the AA in many years.
What made it even more poignant was the newly opened exhibition across the hall from the symposium on Zaha Hadid's new Phaeno Centre in Germany. After taking part in the event and passing through the exhibition on the way out the, work in the exhibition looked very dated and old in comparison to the ideas and work shown at the symposia.
In reflecting on the event I believe we are moving away from the old models of working, practicing, and educating towards what I would call an Architectural Intelligence.
Check out the new publication from AD!
I have been very quiet the past month.
Waiting for the baby to arrive, it will be induced this week, it is 2 weeks over-do.
Drawing like crazy on the house in Iceland, of course now when the construction starts all the changes are coming back from the client with urgency. Some changes may take the project all the way back to the planning process again. Or worse compromise the design logic. Well let’s see what happens there.
Since spring is taking it's time to get here and it has been freezing for the past month or so, no skating has gone down. Where is the warmer weather?!
